Building our own ‘Arena’
This is seen as essential for further developing the machine vision and understanding how sensor input from the 3x ultrasonic sensors can be exploited. There is only so much that can be done arranging pieces of cardboard into pretend walls!
We used pieces of spare plywood lying in the shed, saved from previous renovations. Four pieces were cut to form the ‘walls’. A larger square piece forms the floor. All pieces were primed, rubbed down and then painted using ‘blackboard’ paint. It looks good, top quality smooth finish, probably spent far too much time on it though...
We’ve also painted several 7x2 timber joist offcuts various different ‘primary’ colours to form movable walls for the maze challenge.

Arena with movable 'green wall'. White insulation tape has been used to form a line for Dan-ED to follow.
